Budget Consultation Meetings This Fall

The Regional Municipality is going to hold public budget consultation meetings this fall rather than next winter.

Chief Financial Officer Marie Walsh says the move comes after snow and ice played havoc with this year’s meetings.

She adds the times and dates for the meetings will be posted next week with the first meeting taking place in early November.

She goes on to say this year’s budget consultation meetings will focus on economic development and will include presentations on port development and the railway.

Councillors are scheduled to hold their budget deliberations in March.
