Bruce Guthro Getting Order of Nova Scotia, Posthumously

Bruce Guthro is going to posthumously receive the Order of Nova Scotia at a ceremony in Halifax, later this morning.

The singer-songwriter died at the age of 62 on September 5th after a battle with cancer.

Guthro had a successful solo career before fronting the Scottish band Runrig for 20 years.

He was also the founder of the “Songwriters Circle” that developed into an award-winning CBC TV broadcast.

The investiture ceremony is scheduled to get underway at 10:55 at Government House.
