Body Of Missing Glace Bay Man Found In New Waterford

Regional Police say they don’t suspect foul play after a missing Glace Bay man was found dead in New Waterford.

Police say the body of 64 year-old David Gerard Simmons was discovered alongside a walking track off Plummer Avenue, yesterday afternoon.

The body will be sent for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

Simmons’ family called police on November 19, after they had not seen or heard from him since November 13.

Police say Simmons was last seen in the early afternoon of November 15, walking on Plummer Avenue toward Hinchey Avenue and the ocean.

Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue carried out a search in New Waterford a week ago.
