Between Eight and Ten Ambulances In Cape Breton Out Of Service On Five Days Over Three Month Period

New data released by the paramedics union has some high results for the number of ambulances out of service or half staffed in Cape Breton.

The documents reveal there were ten half-staffed or out of service ambulances on the Island on November 11th of last year.

There were nine units half staffed our out of service in Cape Breton on two days, last month.

And, on two days in October, 8 ambulances were either half-staffed or out of service.

IUOE Local 727 says the number of times ambulances across the province were out of service during the three month period was 989.

The union is blaming what it calls a crisis in healthcare for the problem.
