Bentinck Street closed for three weeks as fire station construction commences

Work on downtown Sydney’s new fire station gets started tomorrow, leading to a section of Bentinck Street closing as the work is carried out.

The municipality says the section of Bentinck from just before the Highland Arts Theatre to Pitt Street will be closed for the next three weeks.

Bentinck will be open to two-way traffic from Prince Street to the closed section.

The new fire station, which will replace the station on the Esplanade when it closes to make way for the Nova Scotia Community College Marconi Campus, is being built on a city-owned lot at the corner of George and Pitt Streets.
