Bay Days Festival To Continue This Year

A summer festival in Glace Bay will be happening this year, despite fears a lack of volunteers would lead to a cancellation.

Ed Beaton is chair of the group that runs the festival following a meeting held in Glace Bay last night.

Beaton is the executive director of Glace Bay’s Town House and says he wants to continue the work done by former Treasurer Cecil Saccary and others who’ve since retired from their positions.

Beaton says they don’t have a date yet for the festival, adding he doesn’t want the three-day festival to conflict with other major events happening this summer.

He says they expect to have a date set sometime next week.
