The Crown is expected to wrap up its case today at the second degree murder trial of Thomas Ted Barrett.
The 40 year-old Glace Bay man is accused of killing 21-year-old Brett Elizabeth MacKinnon.
Her remains were found in woods in Glace Bay in 2008, two years after she was reported missing.
After a day and a half of discussion behind closed doors over a videotaped statement from a witness, the public was allowed back in the courtroom, yesterday.
Judge Robin Gogan has still yet to rule if the testimony from Sheryl Flynn, who’s since died from a drug overdose, can be entered into evidence.
In her video testimony she says Barrett admitted to strangling MacKinnon.
Barrett’s ex-girlfriend and Crown witness, Ashley MacDonald, made a brief court appearance yesterday, but was told to return today to take the stand.
