Bail hearings were adjourned today for two brothers arrested on a number of charges last week.
39-year-old Stephen Frederick Hanna was arrested on Thursday in Glace Bay and faces counts of driving while prohibited, resisting arrest and breaching a court order.
Regional Police say officers blocked the vehicle Hanna was driving when it was parked at the Irving gas station on Main Street.
They say Hanna tried to run away but he was caught and arrested.
Police say the man who was a passenger in the truck then moved into the driver’s seat and sped off on Main Street, hitting two police vehicles in the process.
They say officers gave up the chase for safety reasons and a two-vehicle collision was reported minutes later in Dominion between the truck and another vehicle.
32-year-old Evan Glen Hanna was later arrested.
The charges against him include possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, dangerous driving and evading police.
Both men are now scheduled to have bail hearings tomorrow.
