Bail Hearing Tomorrow For Man Charged In Baseball Bat Attack

The 32-year-old Glace Bay man charged with assaulting 2 people with a baseball bat will remain in custody until a bail hearing tomorrow.

 

Roderick Austin Williams is charged with two counts each of Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon as well as 2 Breaches.

 

He was arrested after police say a 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were assaulted in a rooming house at 223 York Street on Tuesday morning.

 

The man was airlifted to hospital in Halifax for treatment of serious head injuries.

 

Police say the woman was sent to the Cape Breton Regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

They add Williams and the victims live in the same rooming house and know each other.
