Bail Hearing To Continue Today for Arson Accused

One of two members of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department charged in a string of arsons in the community is due back in court today to continue his bail hearing.

24 year-old James Clayton MacDonald from Bras d’Or faces 16 counts of arson in the case.

MacDonald’s bail hearing was interrupted repeatedly yesterday as lawyers explained to his parents the conditions of his release.

His parents have put up a $10,000 bail for their son while MacDonald is expected to post a thousand dollars.

Meanwhile, the bail hearing for 49 year-old Stephen Tremblett from North Sydney has been adjourned until a week from today.

He faces 12 charges of Arson in the case.

The charges against both men are in connection to 16 fires that took place over the last several months.
