Bail Hearing for Teen Charged in Mayflower Mall Knife Incident

A 13 year old girl charged after an incident involving a knife at the Mayflower Mall on Tuesday is due back in court today for a bail hearing.

The teen is charged with two counts of theft, two counts of breaching court orders and single counts of uttering a threat, assault with a weapon (knife), and carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace.

Police say they got a call on Tuesday afternoon from mall security about a female shoplifter resisting arrest.

A second call said that the guard was struggling with two females and that one may have a knife.

No one was injured but a knife was recovered and a 13 and 15-year-old were arrested.

The 15-year-old faces charges of Theft, Uttering Threats and Breach of a Sentence.

She was released from custody on conditions and is due in Sydney Provincial Court at a later date.
