Bail Hearing for Man Accused of Setting Vehicle on Fire

A 32-year-old man accused of setting a vehicle on fire in Sydney last week is due back in court today for a bail hearing.

Kirk Bryden MacDonald from Sydney is charged with Arson causing damage to Property.

A second man from Mira Road is facing a similar charge.

31 year-old Joseph Thomas Bale has been released on a promise to appear in court on May 8th.

Police say they got reports of two men seen trying to light a vehicle on fire on Thursday night.

They add when officers arrived on the scene they found a vehicle on fire in the parking lot near the intersection of Ferry and Dolbin Streets.

They go on to say two men matching the reported description were standing on the sidewalk on Dolbin Street.

They were arrested and charged on the scene.
