Bail Hearing For Boy Charged With Stabbing Taxi Driver

A 13 year old Sydney boy charged with stabbing a taxi driver in Sydney on the weekend is due back in court today for a bail hearing.

The boy can’t be named because of his age.

He faces counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon (a beer bottle) and two breaches of probation.

Regional Police say officers spotted the driver yelling for help from his cab that was stopped on Bentinck Street, shortly after 3:30 on Saturday morning.

They say the 65 year-old was bleeding from several stab wounds.

He was taken to the Regional Hospital, treated and released.

Police arrested the 13 year-old boy who was a passenger in the cab.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of what police describe as a minor injury.
