Bail Hearing for Accused in Beating Case

Two men charged in connection with a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney are due back in court today for bail hearings.

 

47-year-old Gordon William Bobbitt and 34-year-old James Darren Clarke are each charged with obstruction of justice in the case.

 

48-year-old Shawn Curtis Jack was found bloodied and bruised in the parking lot of the Atlantic Superstore in North Sydney on July 14th.

 

He remains in a Halifax hospital after suffering head and other injuries.

Meanwhile, a Sydney Mines man charged with attempted murder in the case will remain in jail until his next court appearance on August 6th.

22-year-old Corey Patrick Blinkhorn also faces counts of aggravated assault, wearing a disguise and impersonating a police officer in relation to the attack.

Two others charged in the case are also due back in court on August 6th.

A16-year-old North Sydney girl who can’t be named because of her age faces charges of aggravated assault, wearing a disguise and two counts of breaching conditions.

22-year Jennifer Lynn MacLeod from Boularderie faces counts of aggravated assault and wearing a disguise.

She was denied bail, yesterday.
