Atlantic Bubble Not Reopening

The Region’s four premiers say the so-called Atlantic Bubble will not be reopening for the time-being.

They made the decision after meeting virtually last night.

Not surprisingly, they say current restrictions on non-essential travel will not be lifted because of recent COVID-19 case counts and variants of concern.

They say they’ll revisit the reopening of the Atlantic Bubble when case numbers have decreased.

However, Premier Iain Rankin and his counterparts say they remain optimistic travel within Atlantic Canada will resume this summer when vaccination rates have increased.
