Asymptomatic Testing Extended

The province is extending COVID-19 testing for people who don’t have symptoms.

Today had been set as a deadline for such people to book a test but the province says people without symptoms can now book tests into January.

The province is also making new recommendations on testing for rotational workers and post-secondary students from outside Atlantic Canada coming back to Nova Scotia after the holidays.

Since earlier this month, rotational workers had been asked to get a test on day 6, 7 or 8 of their self-isolation.

The province is now recommending they get tested on day 1 or 2.

The province is also advising post-secondary students from outside the Atlantic region who return after the holidays and don’t have symptoms to get one COVID-19 test on day 6, 7 or 8 of their self-isolation.
