Assault Charge Laid After Police Called To Sydney Shopping Plaza

A 43-year-old man has been charged after Regional Police say he assaulted someone outside the Prince Street Shopping Plaza in Sydney earlier this week.

Police say officers were told about what they’re calling an altercation outside the Sobey’s Store in the area on Tuesday and they say witnesses told them one of the people involved was holding a knife.

They say a man was arrested at the scene after officers spoke with witnesses and confirmed everyone involved.

They go on to say an ambulance responded but there were no injuries that required medical treatment.

Police have not released the name of the man they arrested.

He’s since been released and is due in Sydney Court in October to face charges of Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
