Arrest Warrant Issued In Robbery Case

Cape Breton Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant for a New Waterford man who’s accused of an armed robbery at a taxi stand earlier this week.

33 year-old David Clifford MacLean, from New Waterford, is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, assault, and assault with a weapon.

The charges stem from an armed robbery at Midway Taxi early Wednesday morning, when a masked man entered the business and demanded money from an employee before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say an employee suffered minor injuries during a brief struggle, but refused medical attention.

Anyone with information on MacLean’s whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
