Arrest Made After Sydney Assault

A Sydney man has been arrested after a 75 year-old man was assaulted on Townsend St. earlier this week.

Regional Police say the man was assaulted and had his wallet stolen while in his vehicle outside the Sydney Credit Union between 6:00 and 6:30 on Monday night.

Larry Daniel John Stevens was arrested this afternoon and is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Wearing a Disguise.

The arrest was made after police appealed for help from witnesses.

Police say they’re still trying to find other persons of interest in the case.

The man who was assaulted was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Regional Hospital in Sydney and has since been released.
