Appeal Today in Kelloway Murder Case

Crown prosecutors will be in court today to appeal an Alberta man’s second degree murder acquittal in the stabbing death of a Glace Bay native.

In October of last year, 32 year-old Nicholas Rasberry was convicted on the lesser charge of manslaughter in the death of Craig Kelloway.

The incident took place at Rasberry’s home, where Kelloway was stabbed 37 times.

Rasberry says Kelloway tried to sexually assault him and claims the killing was an act of self-defence.

Rasberry’s is also appealing the manslaughter conviction and was granted bail in February as he awaits the appeal.
