Another Storm, Many Cancellations

Cape Breton is pretty much shut down this morning as another nor’easter passes through.

 

The Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board has cancelled school for the second day this week.

 

The Marconi Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College and Cape Breton University are also closed today as well as E’toile de L’Acadie in Sydney.

 

The International School in Glace Bay has delayed its opening and will provide an update at10:30, this morning.

 

The Civic Centre in Sydney as well as Sydney Provincial Court and provincial and federal offices will be closed until noon.

 

The Cape Breton District Health Authority is providing emergency services only this morning.
However, it adds already scheduled surgical cases requiring admission and some same day elective surgeries are not affected.
The opening of the Emergency Department at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital is delayed and will reopen when the doctor is able to get to the Hospital later this morning.
Marine Atlantic has postponed all crossings until tonight and the flights to and from Halifax at the Sydney McCurdy Airport have been cancelled until at least 11:15 this morning.
