Another Delay With Marine Atlantic’s New Ferry

Marine Atlantic says there’s been another delay in getting it’s newest ferry into service.

The Ala’suinu was orginally scheduled to begin its North Sydney-Argentia run on June 14th but that was pushed to June 26th because of a problem with the ferry’s lubrication system.

The Crown Corporation says work to fix the problem has taken longer than expected and the Ala’suinu’s first crossing of the season now won’t take place until July 3rd.

It says customers scheduled on the Argentia service will be re-routed to the North Sydney/Port aux Basques run.

Marine Atlantic says it will be adding extra crossings on that run and adjusting the sailing schedule.
