Another Bail Hearing for Local Children’s Entertainer, Today

The local children’s entertainer known as Klutzy the Clown is due back in court today for another bail hearing.

51 year-old Dale Rancourt was denied bail last week after he was arrested on four counts of breaching his bail conditions.

Rancourt had been out on bail on charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation, as well as two counts of sexual interference involving a 15 year-old girl.

The Crown is opposing Rancourt’s release because he’s accused of breaching a bail condition of staying away from anyone under the age of 18 by visiting Sydney’s Family Place Resource Centre.
Also last week, Regional Police said they were investigating a suspicious fire that caused heavy damage to Rancourt’s home in Gabarus.
The blaze was reported to police shortly after 4:00 on the morning of November 14th.

Rancourt was being held at the Cape Breton Correctional Facility at the time, after being arrested for breaching his bail conditions.
