Born into a musical family, Andrew was surrounded by country music and soon given his first guitar. Performing on top local stages by the time he reached his teens, Andrew developed a natural comfort that would compare to that of a seasoned performer. His love of country guitar, and passion for being on stage would continue to be showcased; both in his music; and in his live performances. Over the next years, influences from various artists & genres would help shape a sound that many have come to identify and expect from Andrew.
In addition to performing, Andrew has developed & sharpened his song writing skills, and has since penned many songs. Some of which are co-writes that can be found on his EP “TIME STANDS STILL” with others such as Doug Folkins & Deborah Frelick.
Over the years, he has co-founded and performed in popular local bands such as Maddison, Paradox and Tailgate while lending his guitarist abilities to various artists such as: Jordyn Beatty, Kevin Davison, Campbell + Green, Aaron Pritchett, TJ King, Riki Knox, Chelsea Crites, Deena Bistodeau, Ivan Daigle, Wildflower Duo, Shae Dupuy, Chris Ising and Carroll Baker.
“SPREAD SOME GOOD TIME AROUND” finished as a regional semi finalist on CBC’s Searchlight 2015 contest, and reached as high as #18 on The Iceman’s Top 40 New Artist Countdown. As a result of the song’s success, he was selected to perform in Nashville on June 14th during CMA Fest 2015.
The follow-up to this single was “WITHOUT YOU I’VE GOT NOTHING” which is currently in the top 20 of the same countdown, as well as a top 25 song on Country Blast Radio (U.S), and Spectrum Radio (U.K) charts.
After gaining a substantial following online thanks to the above mentioned online radio stations, Andrew has a clear vision and has his sights set on mainstream radio charts. The album, “TIME STANDS STILL”, released this year to iTunes on August 22nd, and within 48 hours of its release, became a “New and Noteworthy” album for the country genre and reached #78 on Top Canadian Country Albums on iTunes. The first single on his album, “UNLOVE YOU”, was released to Canadian Country Radio via Lauren Tutty Radio Tracking & Promotions on August 24th, and is seeing success and receiving positive feedback from terrestrial stations coast to coast.
Andrew was seen more than a dozen times during CCMA Week which was held in Halifax NS, performing at the “Diamonds in the Rough” and “Artist on Deck” showcases, as well as at Boston Pizza, and MediaWorks “Live off the Floor” – both as a solo artist and guitarist accompanying other CCMA artists. He continues to support his album “TIME STANDS STILL” through radio interviews, and performance dates, which include a recent LIVE performance during The 1st Annual Josie Show Awards in Opryland, Nashville, TN, in late September.
The only place Andrew feels more at home than on stage, is in his own. There, he and his wife Erin raise three children who appear to have their father’s natural love and passion for music.
