Amanda McDougall elected mayor

Amanda McDougall has been elected mayor of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

McDougall beat two-time mayor Cecil Clark by a margin of about 4000 votes.

Over 51 thousand people cast their ballots in the election, or roughly 62 per cent of eligible voters.
