All Three Levels Of Government Working To Help Servicom Call Centre Workers

Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke says he’s been in touch with provincial officials after the sudden closure of Sydney’s Servicom call centre, yesterday.

Clarke says he’ll also be speaking with area MP Mark Eyking today.

The shutdown has left about 600 people out of work, less three weeks before Christmas.

Meanwhile, call centre director Todd Riley is still holding out hope the operation could be sold to a new owner.

He says the potential buyer is U-S citizen who is a very solid and reputable businessperson.

Riley says the buyer plans to come to Sydney and he hopes a sale deal can be finalized within the next five to 10 business days.
