Alder Point House Fire Not Suspicious

The fire marshal’s office says a fire that destroyed a house in Alder Point on the weekend is not being treated as suspicious.

However, Deputy Fire Marshall Doug MacKenzie says they’re still investigating the cause of the blaze at 853 Alder Point Rd, early Sunday morning.

Fire officials say the family of five safely escaped their burning home after their dog woke them with its barking.

A vehicle parked in the driveway was damaged in the fire.
