Alder Point Family Credits Dog For Their House Fire Escape

An Alder Point family is crediting the family dog for their escape from their burning home, early yesterday morning.

Fire officials say all five people at 853 Alder Point Road got out of the house safely after their dog woke them with its barking.

They add the house was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on the scene, shortly after 3:30.

The house was destroyed in the fire and a vehicle parked in the driveway was damaged.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by police and the fire marshal’s office.

Security was in place at the scene throughout the day, yesterday.
