One of the men charged in connection with a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney has had his bail hearing adjourned until today, after a court appearance, yesterday.
47-year-old Gordon William Bobbitt faces a count obstruction of justice in the case.
34-year-old James Darren Clarke is also facing an obstruction of justice charge and will remain on remand until his bail hearing a week from today.
The pair is among six people charged in the beating of 48-year-old Shawn Curtis Jack who was found bloodied and bruised in a North Sydney parking lot on July 14th.
Jack remains in Halifax hospital, where he’s being treated for serious injuries.
Meanwhile, his dog Chico is being cared for at the Cape Breton Branch of the SPCA.
Branch officials say it’s clear the dog was well-cared for by Jack and they hope to get permission from the hospital to take him to Halifax to visit his master when he’s well enough.
An internet funding campaign for Jack has now raised nearly 19, 400 dollars.
