Abbass Retiring From Talbot House

Father Paul Abbass is retiring from his position as executive director at Talbot House in Boisdale.

Abbass has led the recovery centre for men with addictions for 17 years.

He says it’s now time to move on and plans to return to full time ministry at seven rural Cape Breton parishes.

Three years ago, the centre closed for a year after a complaint was filed against Abbass and the facility.

An investigation found no wrongdoing on the part of Talbot House or Abbass himself.

Meanwhile, the board of directors at Talbot House says it’s started the process of finding a replacement for Abbass.

His final day at the centre is next Monday.
