The Health Authority says there were 54,582 people on the waiting list for a family doctor or nurse practitioner as of August 1st.
That’s a drop of 3,891 from July 1st.
Nova Scotia Health says the latest number reflects registrations to the waiting list, attachments to a family doctor or nurse practitioner, and other updates to registration status over time.
The percentage of the province’s population on the Need a Family Practice Registry is now 5%.
Nova Scotia Health says the next update will come in early September.
