Nova Scotia Power says it’s planning to bring back late fees.
The utility hasn’t charged late fees since a cyberattack last year but it says the fee is being brought back on October 1st as billing returns to normal.
The company has also announced a $500,000 Community Energy Fund it says will be used to help customers struggling with their power bills.
It says all of its community programs and donations are funded entirely by its parent company, Emera, and not through power rates.
The company goes on to say more details about the new fund, including application information, will be released in the coming weeks.
It says the fund will be launched this fall.
