National Inflation Rate Hits 2.8% In April

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate in April was 2.8%.

That’s up from 2.4% in March.

The federal agency says higher energy prices, most notably gas prices, drove inflation last month.

It says excluding gas, inflation was only 2% in April compared with 2.2% in March.

Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in April was 4.3%.
