Four Injured In Grand Lake Road Collision

Regional Police say four people were seriously injured in a four-vehicle collision that led to the closure of a large section of Grand Lake Road today.

They say they were called at about 8:45 this morning to a section of road near the Cape Breton Drive-In Theatre, where they found two cars and two trucks at the scene of a collision.

They say fire services helped get people out of three heavily damaged vehicles.

All three drivers and one passenger were taken to the Regional Hospital with serious injuries and one person was later airlifted to Halifax.

Police say the driver of the fourth vehicle was not hurt.

The road was closed for several hours between the Mayflower Mall and the Gardiner Road.

Police say their investigation continues.
