Premier Tim Houston says his government is reversing 53.6 million dollars in cuts in the budget.
Houston says funding is being restored in three main areas.
They are supports and programs for disabled people and seniors as well as programs for African Nova Scotian and indigenous students.
Houston says the government is restoring funding in those areas after listening to Nova Scotians.
However, Houston says cuts in other areas, including arts and culture, will still be going ahead.
The reversal of some the cuts will see the projected deficit sit at $1.24 billion.
