Province Says 2024-25 Set Record For FOIPOP Requests

The province says it had a record-breaking volume of freedom of information requests in 2024-25 and completed 89 per cent of them on time.

The government says the number of requests under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or FOIPOP reached more than 3,800 in that fiscal year.

That’s an increase of 15 per cent from 2023-24.

It’s also the highest number of applications submitted to the government in the 30 years the legislation has been in place.
