Police Cams RFP Delay

CBRM Municipal Clerk Christa Dicks says there’s been a delay in a plan to install cameras in downtown areas.

Regional Police said in June they were hoping to have the cameras in place by this fall, along with cameras to be worn by officers and put in patrol cars.

However, Dicks requests for proposals for the equipment were delayed after the release of the province’s policing review in late June.

She says work was done to make sure the RFP’s reflect the announcements and recommendations in the review.

Dicks says the RFP’s are now open and will be awarded sometime next week.
