The first students arrived today at the Cape Breton Medical Campus at Cape Breton University.
The class includes 30 Nova Scotians who are under return of service agreements with the province.
They’ve committed to practice family medicine in rural areas of Nova Scotia for five years after they graduate.
The province is funding operations at the new medical campus for two years.
The Cape Breton Medical Campus is temporarily operating out of the old Marconi Campus of the Community College with the new medical sciences building under construction on the CBU campus expected to open before the end of the year.
