Regional Police say they’re starting to see more fires in the area during the current dry spell.
Cst. Gary Fraser with Cape Breton Regional Police says one of the fires was at the old Radar base in Sydney yesterday.
Fraser says there were no injuries and the fire moderately damaged a former business on the property that’s now used for storage.
He says the blaze spread to the building after a car and nearby woods caught fire and investigators are now trying to determine where the fire started.
A fire also broke out in yesterday in Glace Bay, where the community’s fire chief says some homes were threatened.
John Chant says the fire happened in the area of Turner Street and Daniel Drive and it took about an hour to get it under control.
