December Inflation Rate 1.8%

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate in December was 1.8%.

That’s down from 1.9% in November.

The federal agency says food bought from restaurants and alcoholic beverages bought from stores contributed the most to the drop, last month.

It says the temporary GST/HST break on certain goods that was introduced on December 14th was also a factor.

Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in December was .9%.
