Members of Tim Houston’s new cabinet were sworn-in this afternoon.
The event was held in a large room at the Halifax Convention Centre but was not open to the media because of what the government says was limited capacity.
Northside-Westmount MLA Fred Tilley, who recently crossed the floor from the Liberals, has been given the Public Works portfolio while Cape Breton East MLA Brian Comer retains the Addictions and Mental Health file.
Other highlights include Barbara Adams taking on the responsibility of Deputy Premier and returning as the Minister of Seniors while Michelle Thompson stays on as Health Minister and John Lohr has been given the Finance and Labour portfolios while returning as Municipal Affairs Minister.
Becky Druhan is moving from Education to Justice, Brendan Maguire is moving from Community Services to Education, and Scott Armstrong is taking over at the Department of Community Services that’s been renamed Opportunities and Social Development.
