In the provincial election, Liberal leader Zach Churchill announced what he calls a better deal for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality in Sydney this morning.
Churchill says a Liberal government would establish a Charter for the CBRM.
He says a Charter specific to the CBRM would give council the authority to make decisions tailored to its unique demographic and economic needs.
He says the Liberals would also invest $300 million in the CBRM over four years to spur economic growth, improve local infrastructure, and alleviate the housing crisis in the municipality.
