The Health Authority says it will be making calls to people on the need a family doctor or nurse practitioner list over the next several weeks.
It says the purpose of the calls is to confirm whether people on the list still need a primary care provider.
It says people can expect phone calls to show up from either a number they don’t recognize or from a blocked caller ID or unknown name and number.
People will be asked to provide the last four digits of their health card and their birth date as well as to confirm the address, email and phone number that are on their profile.
Nova Scotia Health says it will also be calling people who added their name to the list because their provider has notified them they’ll be retiring to confirm if their provider has now retired.
