Ribfest Raises $38,000

Organizers say this year’s Rotary Ribfest at Open Hearth Park in Sydney raised $38,000.

The money comes from donations made at the gate to the event with a total of 25,000 people taking part in Ribfest over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Ribfest has raised a total of $465,000 since it started with the money going to local charities.

This year’s proceeds are going to the three Rotary Clubs in the CBRM as well as United Way Cape Breton.
