National Inflation Rate Hits 2.7% In June

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate in June was 2.7 percent.

That’s down from 2.9 percent in May.

The federal agency says the drop in inflation last month was largely the result of slower year-over-year growth in gasoline prices.

Gas prices rose .4% in June following a 5.6% increase in May.

Meanwhile, Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in June was 3.5 percent.
