Marine Atlantic’s New Ferry Goes In Service Today After Several Delays

Marine Atlantic’s new ferry is finally scheduled to enter service today after a number of delays.

The Ala’suinu is due to leave North Sydney for Argentia at 5:30 this evening.

It was originally scheduled to start the Argentia run on June 14th.

However, a problem with debris in its fuel and lubrication system delayed that start three more times.

Meanwhile, Marine Atlantic says the new ferry will have to be taken out of service again on July 17th and 18th for more port trials with passengers rerouted to the Port aux Basques crossing on those days.
