Peter Day New Teachers Union President

A teacher with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is the new president of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union.

Peter Day defeated Shawn Hanifen in yesterday’s second ballot election with 60.6 per cent of the vote.

Day has been a teacher for 22 years.

He’s currently a technology mentor with the Cape Breton-Victoria Centre.

He’ll assume office on August 1st and replace Ryan Lutes who’s served as president since August 1, 2022.
