Canada’s Inflation Rate Increases To 2.9% In March

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate was 2.9 percent in March.

That’s up from 2.8% in February.

The federal agency says gasoline prices contributed the most to the year-over-year increase as prices at the pump rose faster in March compared to the month before.

It says excluding gasoline, the all-items Consumer Price Index slowed to 2.8% last month.

Nova Scotia’s inflation rate for March was 3.3 percent.
