The first instalment of the federal carbon rebate for 2024 is being delivered to some Canadians today.
People in Atlantic Canada as well as Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta are getting the rebate today if they filed their 2023 taxes by March 15th.
People who filed their taxes since March 15th will see their first instalment on May 15, while those who file after today will wait until June or July.
The Canada Revenue Agency says the quarterly rebates in Nova Scotia are estimated to be $123.60 for single people living outside of Halifax, pending royal assent of a 20 percent rural supplement.
It says a family with two children under the age of 19 can is estimated to get $247.70 in each of four payments once the 20 percent rural supplement gets royal assent.
