Federal Minister Announces Entrepreneurship Funding In Membertou

The federal Minister of Small Business, Rechie Valdez, was in Membertou this morning to announce $2.5 million in funding for indigenous entrepreneurs.

The money will be used to enhance the Indigenous Women’s Entrepreneurship Program and create the Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Program.

The government says enhancements to the Indigenous Women’s Entrepreneurship Program will help further break down barriers for Indigenous women who want to start up and scale up their own businesses.

It says the youth program will expand leadership development opportunities for Indigenous youth entrepreneurs and help develop resources with the needs of young business owners in mind.
